Mais do que uma limpeza profunda dos canalículos do dente, ele pode ser realizado em consultório ou em casa com um gel, normalmente produtos a base de carbamida. O dentista faz uma moldeira que cobre somente a superfície dental com o gel oxidante que penetra no dente e após algum tempo retira toda a sujeira acumulada.
O tempo de permanência da moldeira nos dentes, dependerá de cada caso. Em consultório, usa-se geralmente de 30 a 40 minutos e são realizadas de três a quatro sessões com intervalo de cinco dias. Em casa, utiliza-se durante toda noite e algumas horas durante o dia.

The dentist makes a tray that covers the teeth only superficially, through an oxidant gel that penetrates the tooth and removes the accumulated dirt afterwards.

In-office, the period usually is from thirty to forty minutes and the number of sessions is from three to four, done with a break of five days. At home, the patient can use it all night long and during some hours of the day.
